Our commitment to reconciliation
As a large business which has proudly been supporting people and communities across Australia for more than 115 years, we know the important role we have in building an inclusive, prosperous and resilient society for all Australians. Suncorp’s purpose is building futures and protecting what matters; contributing to reconciliation in a relevant and sustainable way is a critical part of living this purpose.
Suncorp commenced its reconciliation journey in 2018 with the launch of our Reflect RAP.
Suncorp's Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
Suncorp has been part of the Financial Inclusion Action Plan program since its inception in 2016 to improve the accessibility, suitability and affordability of financial services and support for Australians, particularly those experiencing vulnerability or at risk of being excluded from the financial system.
Suncorp acknowledges the over representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples among those who are financially vulnerable and either excluded, or at risk of being excluded, from the financial system and economy.
Through its RAP, Suncorp aspires to be part of the solution to improve the financial resilience and wellbeing with, and for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples – individuals, businesses and communities.

In 2020, Suncorp and Clontarf Foundation endeavour to pilot a culturally appropriate financial literacy program.
Since 2018, Suncorp has partnered with the South East Queensland Indigenous Chamber of Commerce to improve economic participation for small businesses through their successful Meeanjin Markets in Brisbane.
Suncorp has also been proud to work in collaboration with like-minded organisations over the past three years to support the establishment of a social enterprise to reduce the financial hardship experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in times of Sorry Business.

Suncorp’s partnership with First Nations Foundation
Suncorp and First Nations Foundation share a common goal which is to improve the financial wellbeing and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. First Nations Foundation has identified the greatest demand among Indigenous communities is locating and accessing their superannuation. Since 2018, Suncorp has partnered with First Nations Foundation, supporting their annual community outreach program, Big Super Day Out, which has reunited 1,636 people across Australia with more than $24 million lost in superannuation.
In the absence of community outreach programs in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Suncorp is delighted to partner with First Nations Foundation to deliver indigenoussuper.com.au, an online resource offering culturally relevant superannuation information and assistance to Indigenous Australians nationwide.
