First Nations Foundation CEO Leah Bennett took the stage at the ASFA Conference on the Gold Coast, where she shared her insights on shaping the future of retirement in Australia.
Speaking to leaders from across the superannuation sector, Leah emphasised that financial wellbeing is about more than individual choices. It is shaped by the systems, policies and structures that surround us.
"Financial wellbeing isn't just an individual responsibility - it's shaped by the systems around us. We need clear investment to ensure it remains front and centre in national conversation."
Leah spoke about the progress made through the Indigenous Superannuation Working Groups and the First Nations Super Summit, two key initiatives now led by the Foundation.
Both bring together voices from across the super sector, government and community to address the barriers First Nations people face in accessing and benefiting from their superannuation. This collaborative approach continues to strengthen connections across the sector and drive better outcomes for First Nations people.
As the Foundation continues to lead this work, Leah's message at the conference was clear: lasting change depends on sustained investment, genuine partnership and keeping financial wellbeing central to the national conversation.
