Spirit Super's (previously MTAA Super) partnership with First Nations Foundation

We have been a proud partner of the First Nations Foundation and Big Super Day Out since 2019.

In 2019, Spirit Super (previously MTAA Super) Adviser Craig Buchanan (pictured left) visited indigenous communities in Western Australia and East Arnhem Land. Craig was one of the many super industry volunteers who took part in the event, providing hands-on support to help Indigenous Australians reconnect with their super.

Of the experience, Craig said, “The Big Super Day Out was a truly rewarding experience showing our funds’ spirit of mateship in helping to connect First Nation members with their superannuation and hearing the difference this will make to their lives.”

We are committed to helping Indigenous communities to better engage with and benefit from their super. And while our reconciliation journey has only just begun, we are committed to better understanding issues impacting First Australian’s, such as financial literacy and security, to help us provide better support to our Indigenous members and their communities in the future.
